The pop up you are seeing is a result of your computer automatically connecting to a Wi-Fi network with a custom login page, but failing to communicate with it.

If "FiOS-GZYVJ" is the name of your home Wi-Fi network, contact your ISP (Charter, Verizon, Comcast, etc.) for assistance.

If you don't recognize "FiOS-GZYVJ" follow the instructions linked below to make sure it does not connect again.

Calling Apple Support phone service was very helpful. In showing this picture, and pressing F3 to get behind it when it was blocking the entire screen, it was labeled on the Mac Air OS 10.10.5 as a "Captive Network Assistant". Here are the things you can read about the term for understanding and relief: WHAT IS A CAPTIVE NETWORK ASSISTANT THE BEST VIDEO: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-SWcfQX6lTQ&frags=wn https://www.cisco.com/c/dam/en/us/products/collateral/wireless/small-business-50 0-series-wireless-access-points/at_a_glance_c45-728251.pdf https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=z5Fhpi190_g&frags=pl%2Cwn ................................ I am satisfying my anxiety about it with this information. I don't go to hot spots, but do have a very active airbnb operating next door to my residence (might that be the source?) At any rate I am just closing the close button, and the page is removed and I move on into using my computer, otherwise undisturbed.

This is the window, except that it contains my SSID number for the modem I am connected which is not this number.

Read articles for this issue another person had at: Connecting to wireless triggers error message on apple.com

Tried:

I DID THE FOLLOWING AS WELL AS APPLE DIAGNOSTIC ON WIFI (it showed not problems, as did the Malwarebytes scan, no issues).

RESTARTING, removed location services ability at Safari>Sys Pref>Privacy, REBOOTING MODEM (UNPLUG AT LEAST 30 SECONDS), REMOVED AND PUT BACK CABLES SECURING INTO MODEM, unplugged Windows 98 that was plugged into modem, removed location services (Safari syst Pref. Privacy — from deny to ask once a day, and Adblock Plus after update moved it back to 'deny' option), in Asfari>Sys Pref> Privacy & Security — blocked screen sharing (Firewall Advanced)

using: http://osxdaily.com/2014/10/25/fix-wi-fi-problems-os-x-yosemite/

This is what I did:

2: Create a New Wi-Fi Network Location with Custom DNS

In SysPref> Network>Advanced> Hardware the configure from automatically to manual and the custom 1453 instead of the standard 1500 did not hold (I did click OK) When I check back it is at the automatic and standard 1500 setting. And changing the name of the network also did not hold. (Right after I did this the pop up came up with 'Join "Presto"' at the top of the pop up window instead of my SSID #. ) Also before attempting to make these

changes the DNS Servers was blank and now it has two numbers listed (don't know if these give personal info so I won't list them here ....... they both begin with 64.59. ... . .. (9 numbers). The set up is for WPA2 Personal as this article says is best.

The thing is that the window is not popping up when I put computer to sleep when I am online too and often, where as previously it was rarely (every 12th time using computer) and only on page that appears after log-in (on which I have top-sites.)

also: after the below did: Safri Sys Tref >General — new tabs open with "Top Sites" (2017— it was "homepage" [which is an apple.com address)

next, after all this -- I'll post the EtreCheck Report

Is that what this error reference is from the Etre Check report that I have posted here?
