Arthritic hands. Can’t turn my iPhone 7 Plus on.

I can’t turn my iPhone 7 Plus on because my thumbs are too arthritic to grasp with enough strength to press the button. Is there an alternate way?

iPhone 5s, iOS 9.3.4

There is a "workaround" (not so comfortable, but it's the only one I know 🙂).

While your iphone is turned off, plug it as if you need to charge it (or connect it to an USB port to a computer). It wakes up, wait for it to restart, then disconnect it from charger or from USB port.

To be frank, instead of turning your iphone off, I would put it in airplane mode (for example when you don't want to be disturbed, overnight). In the morning, disable the airplane mode.

Regards and best of luck.

My phone is my portable office. We rely on constant communication in my business. We work extensively with documents and spreadsheets, sharing them via OneDrive. Because the information on my phone is sensitive, I must lock the screen manually several times a day if interrupted. I need to be able to use that feature.

Do you want to turn the phone off or just lock it? If the phone is on but locked, you can wake it up and unlock it using the Home button. All I do to unlock it is press the home button. Touch ID does the rest.

To lock the screen, you can use Assistive Touch. Settings>General>Accessiblity>Assistive Touch and set up Lock Screen as one of the options.
