MIDI Keyboard on Garageband not detecting SOME notes

So I've recently purchased a midi to USB chord to be able to play directly from my keyboard (Roland HP-2) into my computer (2017 Macbook air). I've seen issues with there being no or delayed sound on forums, but my problem is that GarageBand only plays some notes that I play on my keyboard. There is no delay on the notes, they play as soon as I do, the problem is that the notes are not being picked up. I feel as though this is an issue with software before it is an issue with hardware, so I would like to know if there are any possible suggestions.

Thanks heaps 🙂

Hello and welcome to Apple Support Communities henry_payne,

I see that you're having an issue with some keys not registering with GarageBand. I'd be happy to provide you with some information that can help.

Take a look at the following article. You'll want to also take a look at the section that is titled "Adjust keyboard sensitivity".
