Itunes could not connect to the iPad,because an error occurred while reading from device

After I connect by my Ipad to my mac, the following error without code appears: "iTunes could not connect to the iPad (..) because an error occurred while reading from the device".

Furthermore, the default application "Photos" automatically opens after I have plugged my iPad, but then another error appears which says "Can not access This Mac has not yet been granted access to media on iPad. "Trust" on "iPad." You may need to unlock the device first. "

However, in my iPad I always grant access and tap "Trust" when that message appears. I have the last update in my iPad and in my iTunes. I don't have any third party security software that may be blocking the connection. Please help!

Hi lluisvvelez,

Welcome to Apple Support Communities. I understand that you're having trouble with iTunes successfullly connecting to your iPad, and that your device isn't being recognized by Photos although you've connected to this Mac previously. I know it's important to utilize both iTunes and Photos with your iPad; I'd like to help. First, I'd recommend taking some time to work through the suggestions below:

Check the message for steps

Some error codes and alert messages have a More Information button. Click it to learn what to do first.

Update iTunes

Get the latest version of iTunes for your computer.

Update your computer

Install updates for your Mac. If you have a PC, get updates from Microsoft.

Check your settings and your security software

You might need to change your settings or update your security software if it’s causing an issue.

Restart

Turn off your computer, then turn it on again. If you get the message when you connect your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch, restart both your iOS device and your computer.

If you still see the error code or alert message

Find your issue below or look up the error code or alert message to learn what to do next.

If you see an error in iTunes on your Mac or PC

Regarding Photos prompting you to "Trust" your Mac after you've done so previously, I'd recommend using the steps below and testing for the behavior after each one:

If you tap Trust or Don't Trust but iOS doesn't accept your answer, or if the Trust alert won't appear, follow these steps. Try again after each:

  1. Make sure that your computer has the latest version of iTunes.
  2. Disconnect and reconnect your iOS device from your computer.
  3. Restart your iOS device and your computer.
  4. Reset your Trust settings.

If the above steps don't help, go to Settings > General > Reset and tap Reset Network Settings. This also resets Wi-Fi networks and passwords, cellular settings, and VPN and APN settings that you’ve used before.

If you downloaded iTunes for Windows from the Microsoft Store, make sure that iTunes Mobile Device Helper is enabled as a startup item.

If you still need help, contact Apple Support.

About the 'Trust This Computer' alert on your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch

Let me know what you find.

Best Regards.
