Eye strain on iPhone X

I only see a couple of people on here about the eye strain. I’ve had this X phone since it was available, I was one of the first to receive it. I have since had to get glasses and my eyes hurt to look at the iphone, esp while using the iphone. I had no idea there was an issue with this phone or people as a community having issues with their eyes. I made the adjustments for the brightness etc. a long time ago. I think it was actually already on the correct brightness And setting. I don’t even know what to do since the unvaling of the new phones, are they better or worse. Please Help!

Hi all. I have been experiencing the following symptoms with many of the new phones....eye tiredness, burning sensation in the eyes, nausea, travel sickness, dizziness. First experienced this after migrating from iPhone to the Google Pixel 1 a couple of yrs ago. Fairly soon b came apparent I couldn’t use my pixel so in reverted back to my iPhone 6 which I had issued through work. I recently have had iPhone 8 issued through work and no issues with that at all.

I upgraded my personal handset to the Samsung Galaxy S9 recently and experienced the sa,me issues. So returned the device for the iPhone Xs. Same issues! Swapped with ,y wife who has the iPhone Xr. Same issues! Looks like I a, going to have tp revert to the iPhone 8 and stay with it.

I have tried adjusting all settings. Including brightness, blue light filter, motion, reducing whitepoint. Nothing works! Obviously something else to do with the new age screens! I started thinking maybe it was LED screens causing me the issues. But I see that the XR is LCDand that gives me the problems too. Am very mystified by this!

Bit worried as whiles I will be fine for the me t 2-3 yrs wi5 an iPhone 8, what will I do then? All phones appear to *the same way!

I agree it’s a hard issue to nail down, as you say it doesn’t appear to be related to a specific display main category (OLED or LCD) so you are left trying to discover what aspect of those screens that are causing the issue is behind the problem. Could it be screen manufacturer, resolution or even the subcategories, LCD encompasses different types so are you more sensitive to one compared to another.

One area though you don’t want to ignore is your eyesight, do you need glasses for example, a visit to the optician may be in order.
