Context menu not working with mouse right-click button since update to High Sierra

Since the update to MacOS High Serra the right click is not showing any context menu.

All system setting seems to be okay.

With simultaneously pushing of the CTRL key a context menu appears, but that is not as it was before.

I had the same issue and this is how I fixed it.

Deleted 'com.apple.AppleMultitouchMouse.plist' located in /Users, your name, Library, Preferences.

Restarted.

Opened System Preferences, Mouse.

Set secondary click to right in prefs.

Contextual menu now working as previously.

All these items are okay which are mentioned on this link.

The mouse click with the simultaneously ctrl button is also working fine with the popup of the context menu.

The only function not working is the single right mouse button context menu which is not appearing.

It seems as if the mouse has a hardware defect and is not sending the right signal. Is that possible?

The coincidence with system update is a bit suspicious.

I had a very similar issue but it did not involve High Sierra. I am using Mojave and everything has been fine until suddenly today, about ten days after updating, the trackpad right click stopped working.

I ended up rebooting (cold start) and the problem was gone.

I don't think it was related to the update. I did just use my Magic Mouse for the first time on this computer yesterday and inadvertently left it turned on. It kept reconnecting and disconnecting all on its own for a while this morning from another room in the house. When I did the shut down, I turned off the mouse.

After the reboot, no more problems. I don't know if the problem was related to the mouse or not. I just know that after rebooting and turning off the mouse -- no more problems with right-click on the trackpad.
