Missed letters

Hi, on my ipad (version 11.4.1 15G7 iPad Air 2) when I‘m typing, random letters, punctuation marks and spaces keep getting missed out. It’s very frustrating. It seems to me like the “keyboard“ is not responding to my touch. I do have a problem with the iPad not responding to my left hand touch as much as my right hand touch, but that’s been going on for ages. Also I get random capitals. There’s a gremlin in there somewhere!

Fingers crossed someone can help .

Try and test these basic troubleshooting steps below from top to bottom:

Restart / Force Restart

Restore from backup

Restore as new

https://support.apple.com/en-us/ht204184

Restart your iPhone 8 or earlier, iPad, or iPod touch

Press and hold the Top (or Side) button until the slider appears.
Drag the slider to turn your device completely off.*
After the device turns off, press and hold the Top (or Side) button again until you see the Apple logo.
