iMessage not in chronological order

I have a new iPhone 8, version 11.4.1.

After I restarted for the first time iMessage messages are not in chronological order. Actually newest are nearly in the end. Very old, some even deleted many years ago are on top. When I open one message, it goes on top after that and so on.

I have tried many different things e.g. on/off of automatic time and place, force reboot, iMessage on/off. Nothing seems to work. Any assistance because this is not how I see an iPhone should work?

I think that it is a Apple error. Try to set your date and time manually. If not try hard reboot

On an iPhone X, iPhone 8, or iPhone 8 Plus: Press and quickly release the Volume Up button. Press and quickly release the Volume Down button. Then, press and hold the Side button until you see the Apple logo.

Thx, but did not work. Hard boot / factory reset not done (yet), cause I want to avoid that due to tens of different passwords and log on requirements.
