Apple Event: May 7th at 7 am PT
At some point, I recall seeing an Apple volume icon come on screen when adjusting volume to my ATV 4K. It was not adjusting the tv volume or receiver, but had its own volume icon in the top right corner of the screen.
It’s currently back to controlling the receiver directly via IR. I want to go back to seeing it adjust itself.
I’ve aearched and messed around with all settings but can’t seem to figure it out. Any help appreciated.

Apple TV doesn’t have volume control, it would be controlling either tv or external speakers via Soundbar or receiver via HDMI CEC or IR

Any idea what function I’m talking about then? It was working so that pressing up or down on the remote resulted in an Apple icon with apples volume bars on the tv. It was not the tv volume nor the receiver volume.
Could you have had bluetooth speakers connected when you saw the volume indicator on screen?
No, but it may have been running through airplay.
