Scratched Screen on Apple Watch Trade-in

I want to trade in my Series 3 for a Series 4. It is less than a year old and in great shape except for a small scratch in the lower corner where it is not too noticeable when using watch. On the trade-in screen on the Apple website it doesn't differentiate between major beat up watch and screen scratches; if you check anything but perfect, you just get an offer to recycle. Does anyone have any experience with trading in an Apple Watch with minor scratches?

The performance of Apple’s trade in partner will depend where you live. Some US customers have expressed serious doubts about the scheme, for example Brightstar Apple Renew Scam - Who can I talk to at Apple about getting scammed by their device recycler?

With a 12 month old Series 3 I suspect you might get a better deal by selling privately or redeploy within your family and friends.
