if you go into internet accounts on your iPhone and sign into your gmail account it will give you a option to show google contacts in contacts app. If you want to transfer them from google to iCloud then you need to log onto google contacts and export them all as a V-card, from there you can import them via icloud.com or the contacts app on a Mac.
