eMac with Macally iStick

I am successfully running version 10.3 (Panther) in classic mode on an eMac (1 GHz PowerPC G4, 512 Mb memory), but I cannot get an old USB Macally iStick (joystick) to work. Specifically, the hardware profiler recognizes that it is plugged in to the USB port, but when I move the joystick the cursor does not move. I have installed the iStick driver from the original disc and it says the installation was successful. Is there something I need to do differently?

Depending on what else you tried, for this to work after installing drivers

someone may venture a reply, in hopes that it may be a correct answer.

Some older hardware items may not work. Perhaps the USB port isn't

powerful enough -- or some other detail that age may have affected.

If you happen to have a powered USB hub, you could try & see if that helps.

At times a few restarts may help. Uncertain reset of NVRAM/PRAM can help

where you hold four keys on restart, and let go after three chimes.

There are certain power management re-set methods for older PPC Mac.

Not sure what else to suggest. I have older G4 Macs, some work OK; and

a few that need repair. ~ I've not given up them (have no time, &/or place.)
