Hello, everyone. So I just updated to iOS 12 on my iPhone 8, And I noticed that the true tone option has completely disappeared from the phone display settings. It is not in the accessibility settings, and it’s not in control center as an option on the screen brightness tab. Just wondering if this is the case with anybody else who has upgraded their device today.

Having updated to iOS12 on my iPhone X, I can confirm the True Tone setting is still on my phone.
Reboot your phone, which is highly recommended after any major update.
On your phone:
Press and quickly release volume up button
Press and quickly release volume down button
Press and keep holding the power button (hold past swipe to shut down) until the Apple Logo appears
Let go and your phone will reboot.
See if True Tone is back after your phone comes back up.

I tried restarting and doing that reset, and the option still isn’t there for true tone. Confused with Apple on this one.
What's odd though is that the setting disappeared from his settings. I can see having a hardware issue, but I wouldn't expect the setting to go away on its own? I echo your comment to have the phone looked at.

Evidently, Apple has removed the Bluetooth symbol from iPhone altogether. If you go out to the iOS12 User Guide, it's not listed as a symbol on iPhone anymore. It was really not a very useful symbol. My BT headphones pair just fine. And there's rarely if ever a valid reason to turn Bluetooth off in settings anyway. When not connected to a device, it uses virtually no power whatsoever.
I don't think you got a bad update. I do think your phone isn't being seen as one that is True Tone capable. I know this is a stupid question, but is there any chance you actually have an iPhone 7, not an iPhone 8?
While I’ve been in this conversation I did just that, and it’s still gone from settings after the restore. I guess I’m out of options unless I go to an Apple store, but the closest one is an hour away, and True Tone just isn’t that important to me, I guess. I just find it so weird that a feature that was working perfectly and existed before the update is now gone. I love Apple, but man, what gives?
Even though you purchased it from the Verizon Store it wouldn't held to check the model settings and post here. Also, has the screen been replaced on this iPhone?
You can call AppleCare and they can run diagnostics on your iPhone remotely.
I have this problem too, but on iPhone 8 plus. Running iOS 11 Installed a new screen and True Tone was working perfect but the ALS was disabled. Updated to iOS 12 True Tone is disabled (missing) and now the ambient light sensor works good.

Hi, just wanted to say that I’m having the same problem as well. I have the X and I updated to iOS 12 today... Don’t know what’s going on.
I'm pretty sure iPhone 6 never had a True Tone display setting. I believe the first phones to get it were iPhone 8 and X.
I’m using iPhone 8.
I don't know what to suggest then. Sorry. If it's any consolation, I don't use True Tone. I've never liked how it makes my X look.
