Hairline Crack In Screen: Can It Cause Worse Damage?

I dropped my iPhone X today. Despite the case and screen protector there is long nearly invisible crack in the screen. With the screen protector, it is still 100% smooth to the touch and everything functions normally. The crack is so invisible I can live with it easily, especially because screen replacement is expensive.

I know this will effect trade-in or resale value. But absent a chance of worse longer term damage I see no reason to spend the money to repair this hairline crack soon.

So, the question, should anyone know, is whether there is meaningful risk that over time the cumulative pressure of daily usage of a cracked screen could damage the LED below the glass (or something else), which is even more expensive than glass replacement.

Finally, I am not worried that the crack will worsen. If that happens I can just spend the repair money then. It will not get more expensive to replace the screen, as long as nothing else is damaged.

Thanks in advance.

It's hard to say, but it won't help in the long run. I have an iPhone 6 that looks like this

and it works fine but it's not a chic magnet.

On your iPhone X:

if you have Apple Care it is $29 for screen or $99 for other repair

Without Apple Care repair prices per Apple for iPhone X screen is $ 279 and for "other damage" is $ 549
