How can we see the date and other information about a photo on the iPhone?

I just upgraded my iPhone X to iOS 12. In the new Photos app, after opening up a photo, how can we tell what the date is and another information about the photo, such as location? I can't find any UI to show that information.

Hello Doug,

Thank you for using Apple Support Communities!

I understand from your post that you would like to know how to view the date and location of photos in the new iOS 12 Photos app. To view the date, tap the Photos app then tap the word Photos in the lower left corner. Tap Today, Yesterday or the day of the week and the date will appear at the top of the page. The following article will provide you with information on how to view your photos by location:

Browse photos by location on iPhone - iPhone User Guide

Best Regards.
