iOS 12 Washed out color / colour

Same problem here. Updated my iPhone X and the difference was immediate and drastic, not just on photos but also on all screens: washed out color, loss of contrast and depth of black, and even the colors are different. Flesh tone is pink, blue is purple, beige is mustard yellow .... I’ve tried ALL the supposed “fixes” for contrast, brightness, transparency, and color filters. Nothing helps. Restore didn’t change anything. Not real happy here. This is not imagined.

I noticed it immediately when the screen is turned off and I wake up the display. I noticed the white brightness in the clock would dim as the rest of the screen lit up.

Screen off->Wake up display->white brightness in the time would be bright->as the rest of the display lights up, the white brightness dims low.

I've tried the fixes above, but the issue still happens. I can't seem to pinpoint exactly the cause or issue, aside from the affect on the brightness of the the clock.

If you press "UPDATE" in recovery mode it will not erase your phone, it will focus on system only. I did it, worked as described. Was with apple on the line for this issue, it was their remedy. However they have said that in case that "Update" trick will not work, full system restore UNDER RECOVERY MODE will be necessary.

For me just pressing update and 5 minutes later all was fine.

My iPhone 6s has this same washed out colour since updates, restore and updates and checking all colour details doesnt work for me!

Really upset as screen was perfect and now across all images and app buttons and notifications are so desaturates they are horrible. I know it’s software as ok when starts up then rubbish

It is totally seen the difference if you compare the same picture that in photos and background. If you put the wallpapers to background and open the same photo in camera roll you will see the exact difference.

Hi my I just got my I phone 7 plus for Christmas and the screen Looks faded and the camera also looks faded I looked on my cousins phone and hers is Normal I tried to fix it by match her settings to mine but it still has not found I am very host because I would like to be able to take good pictures

Hi. I’m having the same issue also. Colours are washed out. The screen looks like it’s some where between having True Tone on and off.

Fixed mine.

Settings —> General —> Accessibility —> Increase Contrast ON

i noticed it instantly. i have an iphone 7.

Screen looks terrible now.

This problem better get fixed as its enough to make me get rid of the phone.

Sike. It fixed images, but buttons, notifications and otherwise solid colors in other apps are too dark now.

I reported this as a bug in the iOS 12 beta. Could see the difference straight away after switching from iOS 11 to 12 beta. Never heard anything back from Apple after raising the issue as a bug.
