Can’t even use the Walkie Talkie

Tried to invite my friend but he is not receiving an invite and I’m not receiving his invite, tried everything from restarting my watch and phone, to removing him as a contact and putting him back on. Is anybody else having this issue?

This is from the Apple support page. Fixed the issue for me:

If you're having issues with sending and receiving invitations

  1. On your iPhone, open the Settings app, then tap FaceTime. Make sure that you're signed in with your Apple ID. Under You Can Be Reached By FaceTime At, make sure that your email address is selected.
  2. Restart your Apple Watch.
  3. Restart your iPhone.
  4. Try to send the invitation again. On your Apple Watch, open the Walkie-Talkie app, swipe left on the contact, then tap User uploaded file. Tap User uploaded file, then choose the same contact.

iPhone x with Apple Watch 3 with cellular.Same problem. Rebooted my watch from out of the box. Removed FaceTime and reinstalled it. My contacts came up missing when I rebooted my watch3 I have my contacts back but I’m still unable to send out invites or received invites says that the person I’m inviting doesn’t have a Apple Watch (they do and it’s a series 3 as well) and when an invite is sent to me, I don’t receive it...

Hi everyone,

I too was having this problem and was just able to fix it. I opened the apple watch app on my phone and went to the walkie talkie app within there. I deleted the contact I had sent a request to then re-sent a request (via the watch). He received the request right away and now it works.

I only had sent to 1 contact to test it out so not sure if you'll have to repeat this step for every new contact, but it worked for my initial walkie talkie contact. Hope this helps.

I was so excited about this so my husband and I can use it while we are at work. I have invited him and it says he doesn't have an Apple watch which he obviously does. He sent me an invite and I haven't received it. My watch is now showing Invited under his name and the same for me on his watch, but neither of us has actually gotten and invite to accept.
