Can’t even use the Walkie Talkie

Tried to invite my friend but he is not receiving an invite and I’m not receiving his invite, tried everything from restarting my watch and phone, to removing him as a contact and putting him back on. Is anybody else having this issue?

This is from the Apple support page. Fixed the issue for me:

If you're having issues with sending and receiving invitations

On your iPhone, open the Settings app, then tap FaceTime. Make sure that you're signed in with your Apple ID. Under You Can Be Reached By FaceTime At, make sure that your email address is selected.
Restart your Apple Watch.
Restart your iPhone.
Try to send the invitation again. On your Apple Watch, open the Walkie-Talkie app, swipe left on the contact, then tap . Tap , then choose the same contact.
