Raise to speak working poorly on watchOS 5

OMG! Thanks for spotting this, as I responded to Carlresberg, this improves it a bit but I don't think will risk to look stupid or brak my wrist by doing that movement ! I think microphone sensitivity needs to be raise by a fix (or make it adjustable by user).

I got my series 4 recently and I've tried raise to speak all kinds of ways, only worked once when i raised my wrist vertically to the floor as another post stated but ever since then only shows the watch screen. Hey Siri and the crown works perfectly fine however, but Raise to Speak would be nice.

Yeah, I’m on Apple Watch 4 and I’ve given up altogether on Raise to Speak. Looks like from videos it worked in beta then broke when launched.

Same here. Really buggy and really annoying. Hope this gets sorted out quickly. Would love to see it working properly.

Raise to speak defined needs an update I have the same problem. Raise to speak works only half the time, and now I get it to come on then it goes back to the watch face. It’s sooooo annoying

On my brand new Series 4, neither raise to speak or "hey Siri" works. There is absolutely no response. I can access Siri by holding down the Digital Crown and that works as expected.

Turns out that upgrading to watchOS 5.1.3 has fixed this irritating bug for me. At least, the spanish version of Siri is working perfectly when I "Raise to speak" now.
