Disabling AdBlock Plus from Safari 12

Disabling AdBlock Plus from Safari 12 is one of the most infamous decisions Apple could ever make. It was the only addon I using with absolute satisfaction and this infamous choice will make me, with a certain assurance, abandon Safari as the default browser on the Mac. From this morning, after upgrading to version 12, navigation has become a ****. There is no page anymore that isn't full of advertisements and unwanted snippets. I hope most of the users also get their Safari. Crazy !!!

MacBook Pro (Retina, 15-inch, Mid 2015), macOS High Sierra (10.13.4)

There is an update to this extension that you can download from the App Store. You can also enable the extension (in the safari preferences), which will prompt you with a warning. But by continuing the extension will redirect you to the download of the updated version.

You can turn it back on under preferences as I have and it works as normal. I too am full of pages and pages of ads on many sites and have used Ad Block plus for a long time. In the minute or so it was off it just reaffirmed the reason I want an ad blocker.

Apple doesn’t routinely monitor the discussions. These are mostly user to user discussions.

Send Apple feedback. They won't answer, but at least will know there is a problem or a suggestion for change. If enough people send feedback, it may get the problem/suggested change solved sooner.

I did get one error message that popped up, but do not remember the exact wording, but was easily dismissed. I have downloaded the update version but find that on "CBC News - Latest Canada, World, Entertainment and Business News"

this site a number of ads are now not blocked. I have emailed the developers to make them aware of this.

Doctorcomputer NAILED IT! I'm as loyal as an Apple customer can be, have owned nothing else in forever, but this latest RIDICULOUS, MESS-UP-MY-MAC MOVE has me absolutely FURIOUS. I don't understand it, and fixing it isn't easy — installed the new AdBlock that (apparently) is trying to make up for what Apple has done, and the new AdBlock is practically worthless. I've spent several HOURS of MY LIFE trying to correct the new horrible blinking, flashing, Vegas-looking world Safari 12 dumped on us and still have not solved it. APPLE ---- FIX IT!!!
