My battery claimed 93% health, but went from full charge to empty within 30 min. That started one week before iOS 12, and software update didn’t change it.

Got a new battery from Apple without touching anything else. Now the iPhone 6S after a long day of usage is still at 60% charge. Latest iOS 12.

I strongly recommend getting a new battery, while Apple is still offering them this year for little money.

Same issue here. I obtained a new battery for my 6s this summer after the power throttling controversy and recently updated to IOS12. Immediately, I started having rather shocking battery issues. I can actually watch the percentage drop as I’m using the phone. Worked perfectly before the update. Now, the phone is virtually unusable. I’ve had iPhones since the original, but I think this is going to be my last one. Apple is shady. I can’t help but think this issue was by design to force us to upgrade to new phones.

i updated my iPhone 6s when the 12.1 update November 8th right away the battery died I assumed that the update took a lot of power during the update. However after recharging the battery died in minutes. I did not use the phone until today after a full charge the battery died with 3 minutes screen time and 10 minutes Screen off.

The battery lasted a full day or more prior to the update. How do I remove the 12.1 update from my iPhone 7 spit doesn’t accidentally get installed and kills the phone as well.

I spent a lot of $$$ on my iPhone 6s three years ago. However, the new upgraded IOS 12.1 has made my iPhone useless. The battery lasts two hours which is unacceptable because I need my cell phone for work. I called Apple support, and the kid was very condescending, and tried to tell me my cell phone battery problem is because I'm on Instagram for a half hour a day. (Even though I told him, it dies quickly even if I don't use my iPhone all). Now realize just like my iPad, Apple products are only supposed to last 2-3 years at most before they become useless. I wish this was made known upfront. My advice to others: don't waste your time trying to troubleshoot this problem because as far as Apple is concerned, it's not a problem. I plan on upgrading my phone today and spending over $1,000!!!! I've been told the Samsung Note 9 does not have these issues.

Hi :-)

Just got a - brand new - 6s on discount plan in italy (love it <3) and experiencing the same :-((

Bad battery life with all important settings right (Background App refr. Off and all usual tips, brightness, motion, visual effects ecc.)

Nice to know it's not only my device and hoping Apple will fix it soon seeing one of iOS 12 strengths is indeed that it runs great on older devices (iPhone 6 too as shown on launch)

Waiting for next updates..!

I have an 8, and yes I tried that and still have the same results. I had been working the apps I use trying to figure out what I could do to better this, I basically keep my phone in low power mode at all times. As I stated I lost 40% with the phone not being used, so I'm not sure what else could be done. My battery health check shows its at 83%, and Apple will not replace unless it falls below 80%. Again this shouldn't matter at all, because I never had these problems before ios12 - my phone would last all day without the need of charging until the end of the day. Sad really, apple will drive away long term customers over something they certainly should be able to figure out (something they added with ios12 is doing this).
