Seems to be longer than 24 hours if that is the case.
Now my third day on ios12 and my 6s is still shockingly bad on power use. Unplugged it to drive to work and 11 minutes later with no use it is down to 95%. Just sitting on my desk it is flat within a few hours, quicker if I receive a call. Now have to carry the charger with me and plug in at every opportunity.
Unacceptable. This might be in purpose. New battery gets about 6-8 hours of life. Even if everything is turned on or off. And why do I have to make tricks to save battery life. It's more than sure that latest ios drains 6s battery.
This battery drain is ridiculous. I have tried every trick given (even though I shouldn't have to because it worked fine before the update). I now have to charge my phone several times a day if I want to make it all day, I have had it go dead on me now twice at events where I couldn't charge it. I've never had that happen with any iphone I've had in the past. As a final test, I tried charging my battery to 100%, then unplugged it when I went to sleep. My phone sat for exactly 8 hours, with the bluetooth off and in DND mode... and when I woke up it was at 60%. This will be the reason why I look at competitors on my next upgrade.
I got through this by restoring my 6s as new from scratch, now it’s not great but not so bad as as well, normal use gets me to the end of the day with 30 to 20% battery
(the 6s has never been as good as SE/7/8)
Have you tried?
f.
I have an 8, and yes I tried that and still have the same results. I had been working the apps I use trying to figure out what I could do to better this, I basically keep my phone in low power mode at all times. As I stated I lost 40% with the phone not being used, so I'm not sure what else could be done. My battery health check shows its at 83%, and Apple will not replace unless it falls below 80%. Again this shouldn't matter at all, because I never had these problems before ios12 - my phone would last all day without the need of charging until the end of the day. Sad really, apple will drive away long term customers over something they certainly should be able to figure out (something they added with ios12 is doing this).
I believe my son sorted out the problem by doing a hard reboot but I agree. People are going to get fed up. I just upgraded my phone and had some issues with that. Also not a fan of facial recognition. It doesn’t work with he hill with ski goggles on of course and when it’s flat on my desk at the office. I’m punching in my passcode more than ever now. Plus the first XR I received, stopped working after a few days and needed to be replaced. I expect more from apple . Have been loyal since the Mac Classic days! Ugh

Note that for the first 24 hours or so after an install your device will use battery at a higher rate as it needs to rebuild various internal databases.
Thanks William and will wait for 24 hrs or more and let you know how things turnout.
Same problem here. iPhone 6s
Zasharas - yes you are right, i am 100% agree with you. I am also facing same problem.
Where do the new battery statistics show your power is being used?
Checking in Settings and Battery there are 2 Apps that has the highest usage - Google @ 25% and Fox News @ 23%
rest of the Apps usage is below 10%
Try shutting off "Background App Refresh" for both of those.
Thanks for the Tip and I have been doing that ever since I upgraded to IOS 12. I am wondering if it’s unique to my iPhone 6s
It has been 24 hrs since I disabled the "Background App Refresh" I found a slight improvement in the battery drain and must thank you for your involvement in this regard.
