Well, last night I "upgraded" to iOS 12. I now have a constant notification that my "iPhone storage is full". Funny thing is that I have 3GB of free space...
I had a similar issue last year when updating to iOS 11, where the notification would occur if you had anything less than 1GB free.
Now I have 3GB free and still get the message. Any ideas how to fix it?

First off welafever, what is the point of your reply? Are you offering help or trying to gain points and level up? Your response is worthless to the community. When I cannot download an app or use my camera because there is "no more space" and the phone actually has 170GB of space...that's not an expectation of "flawless" that is an expectation that my coffee machine makes coffee, my microwave heats water, my TV plays what I want it to play. Geez. Do me a favor and save your ***** comments for someone else.
For the rest of you, I found that my phone had not had a successful backup in several months. It took a couple of failed attempts on my mac before I finally got a current back up, and it took a long time. Once the backup was complete the issue seems to have resolved itself. I have my phone set to wireless backup and with 256 GB and cloud storage, I seldom hard wire the phone to the mac for syncing. If you are having this issue, give this a try.
Already tried. Did not fix the issue.
Which step? restoring from backup or setting up as new?
How can the warning be genuine when I have almost 3.5GB free? If I remove much else, the phone becomes much less useful for me.
I deleted some stuff that I can easily add back in, so I now have almost 4GB free. Still get the "iPhone storage full" message.....
And I just realized my notifications aren't grouping like they're supposed to.
I was hoping the ios 12 release would be less buggy than the release of 11 seemed to be. So far, I'm not impressed
Same with me. more than 1.5 GB free and, for instance, I can't use whatsapp. I have deleted and recovered my iphone 5 times. It works at the beginning and than stuck again. Apple, you need to fix it!
How did you get a brand new out of the box iPhone 6?

I had the same problem. My storage is now 11.2, & the notification is still there. How many space do iOS 12 needs to run (without the notif showing up) on a daily basis anyway?
This is what my wifes 8+ is doing. 30+ GB showing free. Apps wont work “storage full*.

Not true - I'm getting this message on my 32GB iphone and I've only "used" 8GB as I've deleted, reset and pretty much erased everything I can from my phone and I STILL get this message.
iPhone XS 256 GB. 81 GB used. Not a ratio issue. It’s a bug and ridiculous I have to spend an hour setting it all up again
