Is there a disk format which is compatible with BOTH Apple OS X and Linux Mint?
Does not appear to be one from my limited experience trying to go between my primary daily Linux Mint OS and the OS X purchased solely for maintenance of iPhone and iPad.
MacBook Pro, macOS Sierra (10.12.3), only upgraded to maintain iPhone
I believe Linux will read & write to FAT32 and I think ExFAT. Macs can do the same.
I think I boot linux mint once. I'm using ubuntu.
dos Fat32 works with everybody of note.

I am still playing with the exFAT installer on Linux Mint to see if it is actually working.
I did finally find some information on the format in the software manager for Linux Mint
I should add you may have to add packages to Mint to get it to work with the above formats. It's been awhile since I played with Linux.
