safari 12 unsupported plugin error

Hi,

My Safari version is now upgraded to 12.0 (13606.2.11) on OS High Sierra 10.13.6.

Since the upgrade, I can no longer use websites that uses Java container plugin (E.g. Oracle Applications).

Is there a work-around for such error?

Yes, either go back to Safari 11.x or use the SeaMonkey browser. Took a day of trying different browsers but I found that SeaMonkey (https://www.seamonkey-project.org/) can ran Java apps.

And I'm going to make sure that it never gets updated (at least until I don't need to run java apps anymore).

I am having difficulty streaming Amazon Prime. How do I confirm that the "unsupported plugin" message in Safari 12 is caused by lack of Java support? Only my older Macs are displaying this error. All Macs 2013 and newer show no error and stream fine. All Macs are running OS 10.13.6 and Safari 12. I used to have to install Microsoft Silverlight on the older Mac to stream Netflix but that is no longer the case. I can stream fine in Firefox 62.0.2

I have the same problem. I did a fresh install on my MacBook of Mojave, and Safari plays Amazon Prime movies with no issues, however, I did the same with my MacMini and Safari won't play movies and I get an "Unsupported Plug-in" error. How is this possible? Is there an option somewhere either in Safari Preferences or in the OS preferences that needs to be enabled? I install Silverlight but I don't see an option to enable it.

How about Shockwave? I have a Shockwave applet I like to play every now and then, and I put together a bit of HTML so I can play it offline. I FINALLY got the syntax correct so the page can open in Safari only to get the unsupported plugin error (if there's no way around it, I can at least set up an XP virtual machine for it and a few other old Windows apps I have stashed in a folder).
