Safari 12 no sound xm radio

Hello,

Just updated to Safari 12.0, now I got no sound streaming with player.siriusxm.com. Worked fine before I updated and it works fine in Chrome.

In System Preferences, I turned to Internal Speakers, still no sound. back to external speakers using Chrome.

The player used Flash, I think. Checking Youtube, all is well (sound) on iMac 10.13.6.

Thank you.

  1. Select the 'Safari' menu.
  2. Select 'Preferences...'
  3. On 'Preferences...' dialog, select the 'Websites' tab
  4. In 'Websites' tab select 'Auto-Play' under 'General' in left-side pane.
  5. In pane on right side of dialog, find 'player.siriusxm.com'
  6. Change selection for 'player.siriusxm.com' to 'Allow All AutoPlay'
  7. Refresh or open the player.siriusxm.com site in your browser

When you play a station you should now hear sound.

I updated yesterday and had same problem. I called Sirius and they had me go to Safari and at top menu click Safari at t then click preferences then click "websites" then look for Sirius in dialog box ( I had Siriusxm.com and player.siriusxm.com). for both I had "off" selected and changed to "on" then it brought up another window where I had to select "allow all auto-play" for both selections. I closed out and then refreshed browser and it worked! If this sounds confusing, if you call customer service, they can walk you through this.

Okay, so I was having the same issue and stumbled upon your problem. I followed one of the examples listed and then stumbled upon the actual fix. Click on "Safari" in the top menu options, and then click "Settings for this website..." just under "Preferences". A small dialog box will appear towards the top of your safari browser screen that looks like this...

Next to "Auto-Play" select "Allow All Auto-Play" and then reload your browser page.

Boom.

Mic drop.

Try setting up another admin user account to see if the same problem continues. Please post back on whether or not this worked. Also try the Safe Mode. Please post back on whether or not this worked.
