How to unpair and reset Apple Watch with broken screen

Hi,

My iWatch broke and its beyond economical repair. I sold it on eBay for parts, however I am having trouble erasing and unlocking it for the next owner.

- The screen is broken on the watch so I cannot unlock

- It is unpaired from my phone so I cannot repair it to erase it

- I cannot see it under my iCloud

How can I erase and reset it?

Thanks

MacBook Pro, Mac OS X (10.7.1)

If the watch was powered up and connected by Bluetooth to your iPhone it was erased when you unpaired from the iPhone. That will also have cleared the passcode so I don’t think you need to worry about it. The only remaining issue would be Activation Lock, but you say it is gone from your iCloud (Apple ID) so that problem is also cleared.

Summary: You seem to have done everything necessary even though you can’t see the proof because the screen is broken.

I think you have found a spectacular Catch-22 situation which can't be resolved. Restoring a backup *might* work but I'm giving it only about 20% chance and you will lose all recent activity on your iPhone. The slightly better news is that if I remember right the screen and logic board are integrated into one module so a buyer is unlikely to be able to access your data, and if he is good enough to replace the screen he still has to get past the unknown passcode which can only be done by erasing the device. The probability your data can be accessed is probably rather less than the probability of Nixon being elected to a third term as president of USA.
