Apple ID subscription phishing email from Spotify

Has any gotten an email that looks like this? I think I clicked on the link and it sent me to what looked like the Apple ID sign on page and I think it asked me for my SS number and birthday? But it will only send you there once. When I click on it subsequently, it will send me to the real Apple ID sign-on page. Has anyone experienced this?

"asked me for my SS number and birthday? "

Never give out personal information in a situation like this.

More than likely spam and / or scam.

If you received or acted on a likely phishing message:

If you received a suspicious email, please forward it to reportphishing@apple.com. If you're on a Mac, select the email and choose Forward As Attachment from the Message menu.

If you think you might have entered personal information like a password or credit card info on a scam website, immediately change your Apple ID password.

I got the same one today. A few days ago I got a different one, also at the same email address I rarely use. That one was supposedly from Apple, but it was clearly fake due to lack of punctuation, poor grammar, spelling errors & the fact that it was sent to "AppleID Member" rather than my name. Here's what it said:

Dear AppleID Member,

We have noticed that your account information appears to be invalid and unverified.

The following changes to your Apple ID were made on 20 Sept 2018

  • Date and time : 20 Sept 2018 3:18 AM UTC
  • Case ID : ID-66IS618

We need to verify your account information in order for you to keep continue using your Apple ID Account You need to sign and verify it as soon as possible, you should do this soon because disabled accounts are eventually deleted along emails, iCloud, and other data stored with Apple
Thank you for your continued loyalty and support

Verify account informations

Sincerely,

Apple Support

Apple will always address you by your name or the name they have on file for you, not Dear Customer, Dear Client or by using your e-mail address. The e-mail will be from @apple.com or @iTunes.com. E-mail addresses can be spoofed. You can go to Mail/View/Message/Show all Headers to see more. Apple e-mails will never contain an attachment. Apple will never request personal information such as Social Security numbers.

The only exception to the above I have noticed is if you order something from the Apple Store (apple.com), your receipt will be addressed to Dear Apple Customer. That is a receipt for a purchase you initiated.
