Having the exact same experience here. Without question, this issue began when I “upgraded” to iOS12. This issue has been devastating and needs to be resolved ASAP. I depend upon iMessage and can no longer trust/depend on the tool to send messages to the proper person. In the same way, I cannot be sure from whom texts are actually being sent.
yup me too
I can confirm that this issue is very much also occurring with IOS devices on the Verizon network.
You can create family members under your Apple ID. I think we'd all have access to the phones via Find My Phone, at least I'd hope so!
Looks like turning off iMessage did not work for me either. I am going to roll back to iOS11 tonight on all 3 devices and see if that corrects the problem.
Same problem. I even turned off iMessage on all three phones and it still combines them even as plain text. This isn’t just an iMessage issue.
you can. my daughter and i have 2 diff. apple id's. i am the family organizer. i can see her phone on Find iPhone.
I am having the same issue BUT with my BOSS and his wife! I am not able to text my boss as his wife was the last one to text me. This is NOT cool by any means! How can this be fixed????
As I am waiting for my iOS 11.4.1 ipsw to download and instal, is everyone on AT&T who has this problem or does this cross all carriers?
I am on the Verizon network and very much have the problem.
Wow, you have had the opportunity to review “every” case. Impressive. Well then certainly I bow to your experience mon ami. 😌
This issue is happening to me with 2 separate friends who do not have a shared Apple ID so that is def not the issue.
Obviously you didn’t read my comment that clearly states that our household has 5 iPhones with 5 DIFFERENT Apple ID’s and ALWAYS have had separate ID’s yet we are also having this issue.
Turning iMessage off and then back on has worked the past couple days.
Why you people so intense and emotional about separate Apple ID’s. Most families share.
No. Most families do NOT share.
You don't know what you're talking about.
Why is this such a difficult concept?
Why is iMessage combining two contacts into one thread. I can only text back the last one that messaged me. This started with iOS 12
