Voice memos is not saved after i done recording

I'm glad iMazing has been a useful fix for some folks! Unfortunately it appears that I'm in the "file was never saved in the first place" group. Like others, "New Recording 4" shows up if I search but is not listed in the Voice Memos app, either on my phone (where I made the recording), or my laptop (which is connected via iCloud).

I'm really disappointed that I can't access the hour-long recording I made this afternoon. (I'm still hoping against hope that it's not *lost* lost.) Before coming to this thread it hadn't occurred to me how many people rely on the voice record tool in their work. My sympathies to anyone who has lost a recording of serious professional or personal consequence.

I also experienced the same thing today. I tried the Imazing route to locate the recording with no luck, this is really frustrating. What I did was to pause my recording after a long 1 hour interview, then pressed the very same button to continue where we left off and it just erased the first part of the interview and started a new recording. I really don’t understand how does that happen.

I’ve been using Voice Recorder for a month now and it’s a great little app. I don’t even notice the ads.

You can back up your old voice memos to a PC through iTunes and copy them onto a flash drive. Same with recordings done with the Voice Recorder App.

I also back up my entire phone once a week to my PC. I don’t trust Apple to begin with and if my phone was lost/stolen/destroyed I would lose them so I back them up to a few places.

Sure. It’s Voice Recorder. I’ve been using it for over a month and it has been great. I can back up my recording thru iTunes to my PC and flash drive.

This week I discovered it keeps recording even if I am playing a video! I was taping a meeting & I needed to show others a video on my phone. I assumed it would stop recording while I played the video & would resume when I was done (which it does automatically btw, something voice memos did NOT do). When I listened later, I discovered it recorded us talking while we were watching the video!

Anyway, go to the app store and it’s callwd Video Recorder. The free version is great and the ads are small and unobtrusive. I don’t even see them.

My problem is when ever I use the voice recorder and pause it and go to a different app and then go back it shuts everything down without Saving sometimes and won’t let continue. Even sometimes I will just hit pause and 20 seconds later it does the samething it just saves on its own or it completely starts all over. I never had this problem before and I use it everyday for work this is a major issue for me. I even bought a brand new Xs max and the same problem what a waste of money about 3-4 updates ago is when this started happening.

There is no left side bar on the iphone X. I can't get it back. I see the recording as 2 seconds. But it was 3 hours. And it's 3 hours i need to get back to be able to document everything for a paper. I can't redo the recording it just isn't possible.

Has this problem been solved?? This is just hopeless... Have your engine even test the App before releasing it?? Damm Cook, this is the most important and fundamental things to retain your old customers, and you screw it up so badly... Start putting more effort on the fundamentals and stop screwing up Steve Job's hard work...

iOS 12.1.3 on iPhone SE --- by the way SE is only only right product you have made ever since Steve passed away... WE DO NOT WANT LARGE SCREENs... I don't think Cook will see this message anyway, but still, Apple engineers, please clean your **** up...

After so many months no response to the below complaints and apparently no fix! I just recorded a very important meeting, my recording is shown in the list, the duration is also shown but there is no actual recording! It is crushed and I can’t hear anything.

I recorded a 1:40 minute talk and pressed paused when it was over, then done. It never showed up on my save memos list. I have an iphone 8 Plus, iOS 12. I followed these instructions exactly and there it was. THANK you for putting this so clearly.

I totally agree. This app is horrible. I believe my issue occurred for that very reason, my screens autolock was on, before opening my phone i hit pause on the recording, then had to hit resume to bring back a screen where I could hit done to save, but I hit done and it disappeared and then my phone done. A 2 hr interview was never found, like it was never recorded. I can't seem to find a solution not even for a hardware recovery...bc apparently its the "save" that keeps it from storing as a "junk file"...even a temp storage would have helped. I experienced this once with an old LgG3 that I had...but found a significant amount of recovery solutions for things like this...I may need to go back to Samsung they seem to provide better options for customers with regards to things like this. Apple failed here.

Did you fix this? Because I’m having the exact same issue.

I lost my mom to cancer last year... and I had there our last conversations.

I called apple and there are looking into this.

I tried several data recovery apps but no luck. I had hours of conversations with here... and I’m just realizing this now. I can search the phone and see the files but not within the voice memos app.

I would really appreciate any help here as i am desperate!

Hi felobazo. I did exactly as u described. i found the record. But somehow not the original one. Like the duration of the record was 45 minutes. But somehow it is now 7 minutes. Did you get the original note or your note was also trimmed?

mine are saved but you can’t play them back. When you hit done it disappears then when you go back to the recordings it’s there but won’t play. It shows the 57 minutes but it will not play any part of the recording.

Hi I have a pc also, windows 10 what app did you use to open imazing?? I can’t seem to open it to get to that point. I’ve downloaded at 7-zip extractor but not sure why it’s not working for me.

Hi there, I had the same in my iphone x max. At first set your voice recorder app to show off at your lock screen. lock your phone, then run the voice recorder from lock screen. Please remember the records should be upper 10 seconds.
