Has anyone else had to clear off the explanatory notification about Do Not Disturb notifications from the lock screen several times an hour after upgrading to ios 12?
Any thoughts on how to keep it from coming back?

It’s a bug that seems linked to the auto-lock timing; if you auto-lock after 5 minutes for example but unlock your phone in less then it won’t appear - if you unlock after 5 minutes then it will.
The only fix to permanently get rid of it is to revert to manual locking.
Thanks for the explanation, @moojandrew. Doing this turns the DND mode off, but it doesn't permanently remove the message once you have DND on.
Still shows on my phone which is updated to iOS 12.1. Fortunately, I like it.
It hasn’t been “replaced by..” it is now displayed as well as the crescent every time you unlock your phone.
I didn't say it was "replaced by" anything. I said nothing has changed. It's still there. But, I like it, so that's good.
Same here, I do not DND mode is not and I don't wanna see that notification blocking my lock screen!
I guess it’s the most ******** change in iOS 12 that’s against what Apple products are supposed to be about.
(I call it “Don’t look like a Christmas tree. ”)
I wonder why they haven’t renamed it to “Do disturb mode”. Maybe in the next patch.
In addition to disturbing me on four devices, it’s sitting on the middle of my wallpaper so I can’t see my partner’s huge boobs on it.
I spent much time on moving her face from below the clock to somewhere when I can see it. And now this.
It appears that now the notice stays cleared once cleared.
It reappears if you deactivate DND and then reactivate it.
If you clear the message, after activating DND, the pesky notice now stays cleared.
For those of us who use DND, as our default state, this is much better.
It would be better still if Apple would get rid of the notice all together, since the crescent already does the job much more elegantly. Poor design IMHO.
