Hi all
As part of my work as a proofreader I need to insert a few lines of repetitive text into the documents I correct. I need to do this many times in each document I correct but I cannot find a shortcut way to do this, with a function key for example. I'm having to cut and paste the text each time, which is very time consuming. Can anyone help, please?

Gotcha! You can actually create a Text Shortcut in System Preferences that will work within Pages.
If you go to System Preferences > Keyboard > Text - you'll see a section on the left that says "Replace" and "With". Here you can set your own macro text to enter that will change it to what you want to add! Here's a screenshot of that:
I've tested it on my end and it works, so let me know if it works for you too!

Besides macOS's universal Text substitution you can use 3rd Party software like Typinator to do the job.
Or a Multi-Clip style App.

Are your using Command + C for Copy and Command + V for paste? Other than that I'm not sure of a quicker way of getting around the issue.
Thanks for your reply! That’s exactly what I’m doing now. What is want is for the text in question to be ‘stored’ somehow and recalled with a shortcut key(s). A macro of sorts, I assume.
