How to uninstall updates - Pages, Keynote, Numbers

How do I uninstall updates for Adobe, Pages, Numbers and Keynote?

I cannot access many documents on my system or sent to me today via mail since the apps updated yesterday!

I receive a message that my the file is corrupt. In some instances I get a dialogue to select an older version. However this only opens for a few seconds and then shuts down with the "corrupt" message.

I would also like to uninstall the OS (High Sierra) which also updated recently, in case this is where the problem lies.

Updates cannot be uninstalled.

For file corruption, try Safe Mode.

A Safe Mode boot deletes system caches that can help after a macOS update or upgrade.

  1. Start or restart your Mac, then immediately press and hold the Shift key. The Apple logo appears on your display. If you don't see the Apple logo, learn what to do.
  2. Release the Shift key when you see the login window. If your startup disk is encrypted with FileVault.

To leave safe mode, restart your Mac without pressing any keys during startup.

If you still have problems, the disk may need repairing.

Startup while holding down the Command + R keys. From there you should be able to access the built in utilities in OS X Recoveryto repair the startup disk and restore OS X.
