Final Cut Pro X crashes on export

Lately whenever I click on a share button and then choose for example "apple devices", FCP crashes instantly. It didn't crash when I chose share -> export file and the audio and video (when I chose apple devices there it also crashed). I did delete preferences and it crashes in different libraries. I got SmartConverter app from the app store and it also crashes when I'm trying to convert a file from .mov to "iphone / ipod" so I'm guessing it's something more than just FCP bug but rather with a codec or something like that (?) Whenever I had a problem with FCP, trashing preferences would always help but now it's different, what can I do to fix this?

Well, all is well that ends well.

With the help of Emily, go between with Engineering. Problem solved.

testing iPhone and GoPro video. 3 to 5 minutes long.

I have 4 x 4gb RAM memory chips, from bottom up, removed top two, tested problem, iMac (late 2013) crashed on share to file of good (Mp4) quality to desktop.

Took bottom two out and replaced them with top two previously taken out and tested problem. iMac (late 2013) saved on share to file of good (Mp4) quality to desktop.

Put original bottom two into top two slots and tested share to file. Crash.

The problem has all along been a memory RAM chip problem.

Thanks to Emily and Apple engineers for pushing me thru the fog...

I have had a similar problem with my iMac (late 2013) using High Sierra and Sierra.

Seems that sharing to any quality other than Best (ProRes) results in a dead stop of my mac and of course a crash in FCP or iMovie.

I have extensive notes on this and have been working with Apple Tech people on this for over a month.

We have eliminated some issues but not the problem.

It appears to me that some iMac, not all Macs, might have something built in that is causing the crash. We have done extensive testing from a virgin partition set up new for this purpose on my iMac. Both iMove and FCP will crash when an share/export attempt is made to any quality other than Best (ProRes). Even a 5 minute iPhone test video will produce the crash if exported to Low, Medium or Good........

There is a similar link in the iMovie user group:
