Why Is Daily HomePod Reset Necessary?

My HomePod disconnects from the network every day. Every day I have to delete the app, unplug, replug back in, and re-pair it w/ the phone. Literally every day. This started about a month ago and was only occasionally but now we're up to every single day for the last 4 days. Yes, I have restarted my modem. I actually have quite good internet here and have no issues with any other devices aside from the Apple ones. I've been a long time Apple supporter when everyone around me has been telling me how terrible they are but up until now, I had never experienced these issues. I'm sorry, but reseting the HomePod EVERY DAY is not a solution. What is going on here?

How would something like this be done? Currently have Apple TV, Roku, HomePod, iPhone, Macbook, and a VOIP phone connected to my network (no issues w/ any of the other devices, just the HomePod) - didn't seem like a terrible amount but if isolating addresses will help this issue, I'd like to try it. Would this be something I need to contact my cable provider for? I am not using their router - I purchased my own from a list of "approved compatible" devices that they provided.

This is exactly what my issue was. I had no idea I had more than one wifi network until my cable provider happened to be here performing another service and I had told him what was happening, So he did it for me. made it stay on one network. Since then my HomePod has been staying connected. My air printer is also staying online as well.

Like you , all my other devices had no issues, except the brother printer.

Apparently the router is always trying to establish a faster connection, so it goes off while it does this, it ends up some of your devices are using different networks and thus not syncing with your HomePod.

good luck!

On Wednesday, Oct 24th I purchased 3 Apple HomePod devices and connected them to my network. Every minute or two they all lose internet connection, and about a minute later they work again. I’ve reset the devices and power cycled my modem and router but the issue continues. All other devices are working fine.

I’m running on a Motorola Surfboard modem and a Netgear Nighthawk router. WiFi has been great and has not had any issues. I have a Google Home, Amazon Echo, Nest thermostat, Hue bulbs, iMac, iPad Pro, iPhone XS Max, iPad Air, Apple TV, Security camera, PS4, etc. that all work flawlessly on my WiFi.

I called Apple Support last night and ended up being handed off to one of their senior level techs. The first thing he asked me is if I had internet through Cox. He said that they have received numerous complaints similar to mine over the past 24 hours and the common theme is that everyone experiencing the issue has Cox as their internet provider. Has anyone else heard about this? The really strange part is how it is only affecting my Apple HomePods and everything else works fine. I’m at a complete loss here.
