I am using a iPhone X. I've update on IOS 12. some how i noticed an issue that is that when i switch to portrait mode in camera app the colors of image become faded (less vibrant, very dull) as soon as the camera focuses on a subject. this is happening only in portrait mode. the wide angle lens in normal photo mode works perfectly. is this an ios bug? please check and reply me. thanks.

I face the same issue. I'm on iOS 12 and the display turns to a dull grey when I switch to portrait mode.
Anyone know how to fix this? The closest hack is to go to your photos and tap the wand to auto-enhance the picture
I just tried to capture the problem by taking two pictures and sharing them side by aide. The colora become fine when i change the focus to a nearby object. I guess others are also facing a similar issue.
Same problem here after updating ios 12...saturation is dropped when there is no sunlight
Your iPhone is definitely under warranty. Visit an apple store because i have no clue abt this issue
To be clear, we're talking about the Portrait feature of Camera, right? NOT holding your phone in "Portrait" orientation (vs. "Landscape"), right?
I too have video. When you switch to portrait it show normal for a second then goes to this washed out image. Also happens here since iOS 12.
Just wait for the ios 12.1 , it should fix it

I am having the exact same problem since I have updated to iOS 12. I infact recorded my screen to show that issue with the camera app.
Apple Support on twitter basically said it’s nothing.
And I am really ****** as I didn’t buy such a costly phone so that I cannot use it at all.
I’m also experiencing this problem with the washed out colors when setting my camera to portrait mode with my iPhone X. I’m guessing the “bug” found its way into the software right after the release of the XS to encourage more people to upgrade by making people think things like “Look how much better the photos look on the XS!”
Please fix this bug Apple.
I’m having the same problem too. Funny thing is, portrait on the front camera works fine. If it’s a software problem, wondering why the difference.

Same here bro , portrait mode was perfect in ios 11 , but in ios 12 colours are washed off.
Same here. New to iOS 12, when portrait mode locks on, colors snap to a gross off-grey. Camera otherwise shows great colors, even while locking on.
