Bluetooth not working on IPhone XS

I just upgraded to the new iPhone XS, and the Bluetooth on my phone won't discover my devices, including a Fitbit and a portable speaker. I've tried all the troubleshooting for previous problems related to Bluetooth issues listed for the IPhone X and IPhone 8 via Apple--ie, restarting the Bluetooth on the phone, restarting all the devices, resetting network settings, making sure my Bluetooth devices are discoverable, etc. Are others having this problem? Is there a solution I am missing?

I am having the same issue. I picked up the Iphone X S Max about a week ago. Before upgrading I had the iPhone 8 plus; which worked great with all my Bluetooth devices. Now, my Bluetooth connects drops after about 1 min to 1 min and 45 sec. I have tried all the trouble shooting steps and replaced the phone yesterday (Oct. 14, 2018). I am still having the same issue. Today (Oct. 15, 2018) I asked a friend that has the 7 plus to connect to my radio; his phone has done the same thing. I truly believe it is a software issue.

I have an iPhone Xs Max and it is not connecting to my Montblanc Summit watch. When I tried to unpair and Re pair it, it discover it, but after clicking the “pair” button, it becomes unavailale (with the the updated wear OS). It was working fine previously with my iPhone 6+ with iOS 11.4]. I also have problems using the Bluetooth connection to play music from my phone in my car (Porsche cayenne 2012) it disconnects spontaneously. I was hoping things will be fixed with iOS 12.0.1, but it still not working ! frustratingly.

I just got off an hour long phone call with apple support, there is a work-around that helped with the connection with my car, that you could give a try (it didn't help with connection to portable blue-tooth speakers). Go into your settings, general, and finally about; there will be a selection at the top of that settings screen with "Name", change the name of your iPhone, that seemed to work for me. Support said that they think this issue will be corrected with iOS 12.1, as 12.0.1 didn't really help.

I’ve also been having some Bluetooth problems with the iPhone XS to the point where I may be returning it. I’ve paired the phone to my car and it works when I first pair it but the next day, the Bluetooth fails to work with my car unless I delete it from both my car and the phone and then repair it. I know it’s the phone and not my car because my previous iPhone 7 Plus worked without any problems. For a phone with the price point that the iPhone XS has, there is no reason for it to be having as many issues as have been reported.

The same for me. IPhone XS, 64 GB, the person I talk to in the phone via car-kit stops hearing me. Sometimes after 1-3 sec, other times after 20-30 sec even 1 min. It is not the same each time. It’s like the microphone stops working ....

I even had my phone replaced with a new one (not that other one was old). And the issue is the same.

While I was waiting for the phone replacement, I went back to my old iPhone 7, with the same iOS 12.0.1 (latest update), the same I had on the XS. The iphone 7 works perfectly.

No I didn't.

I had to return 2 XS Max's & 1 XS all having bluetooth issues.

2 of the phones were returned before IOS 12.0.1 came out. The 3rd one returned after IOS 12.0.1 as it didn't help.

All phones were returned within 14 days so I got the refund.

Now I have the XR 256GB with no bluetooth issues or LTE issues.

Im not sure what's happening with the XS model phones.

Hi. Posted this elsewhere and your mmv. I unpaired my Xs from one car (the other one never paired so there was no unpairing to do) and then Reset Network Settings by going to Settings>General>Reset Network Settings...you may need to enter your passcode and you will be asked to confirm (make sure you ONLY select Reset Network Settings). I then powercycled the phone (though I don't think this step is necessary, just insurance). For some reason, the phone's name is wiped out when you reset the network settings, so I reentered the phone name by going to Settings>General>About>Name. I then paired with bluetooth once by having the car search for the phone and another time by having the phone search for the car. Both cars paired successfully and both autoconnect now when I enter them. This also worked for my wife's Xs. When I recently rented a car, the phone was detected and paired without a problem. Reset Network Settings worked for me, so it's worth a try. Good luck.

Tried this today, and I am happy to say that it is working so far. Thank you!
