Email Notifications on Apple Watch not working since IOS upgrade

I have my email notify me on my watch this has worked great for years. I recently upgraded to watch OS5 and IOS12 and now it doesn't work. I still get notifications on text messages and other apps on my watch but not email.

I have reset watch and phone but still not luck. Any ideas on how to fix would be appreciated.

I have been having an issue with no mail notifications on my Apple Watch 3 with iPhone X with Gmail on Exchange. Someone on here very kindly suggested I look at the watch app/notifications/mail and set it to mirror my iphone, and then on the iphone settings go to Notifications/mail and ensure you allow notifications from VIP and Favourite Mailboxes.

That fixed it for me.

Failing that, if you are a Gmail user just use the Gmail app - that works fine with notifications on Apple Watch.

If you have multiple emails or calendars set up on your phone (i.e. a Gmail account and an iCloud account) this can be fixed with a pretty easy work around.

What you have to do is allow notifications on ALL email accounts and calendars on your phone or you won’t be able to get notifications for your main email/calendar account. You might get alerts on the watch face but you won’t be able to get the red dot Notification Center notifications unless every email account or calendar is set up to receive notifications/alerts.

I’ve found that enabling just the banners notification on the other email accounts and calendars is enough to get Notification Center to work again. You can also set the sounds and vibration to “none” on the other accounts you don’t use to limit their “noise”.

Hope this helps you.

I was having the same issue as everyone else on this forum and found a temporary solution by doing the work around until apple fixes this the right way. The work around was setting mail to “custom” in the watch app then turning on banners on the iPhone under settings, notifications, mail. This was frustrating to see banners on the phone, but at least I was getting notifications on my Apple Watch.

However...I recently turned “use listening history” off under the music setting on my phone and I stopped getting email notifications on my watch again!! Glad I remembered what change I made! I tuned listening history by on, and started getting email notifications again. Now I’m scared to make any changes since I’m not sure how it will affect the settings on my watch.

Just thought I would share.

I´m still not getting any haptic feedback on my apple watch (series 3) with iphone x from mail.

I can see the mails in notifaction center on my watch with the red dot and i can see them on the iphone but there is no sound or vibration on my watch. I tried all workarounds here except of logout icloud in settings or complete reset my iphone. I can´t believe that this has to be the solution because it is to much effort.

I was having the same issue and this is what I did to resolve it:

1 - Open the Watch app on your phone.

2 - Scroll down and select the Notifications menu.

3 - Inside the Notifications menu, scroll down and select Mail from the list.

4 - You will have two options in this menu "Mirror my iPhone" and "Custom". Select "Custom"

5 - Once you've selected Custom a new list of options should show up below. In those options you should see all the accounts you have linked to your Mail app.

6 - Select the account that you want to send notifications to your watch.

7 - Inside this menu make sure "Haptic" is turned on.

8 - Repeat for any other account from step 5 that you would like notifications sent to your Watch.

This must be done individually for each account that you have linked with your Mail app, but all of them should be listed there. I hope this helps!
