Same problem. And it is a software issue cause rebooting solves it. Play any music or just speaker on phone call. Cover bottom speaker and you will hear nothing. Reboot. Same thing and now you get sound from top speaker. Wife’s phone does not have the issue yet but I use my phone more. Need to figure out what is triggering it until apple fixes it.
Yep. Are you guys filling out the apple feedback form? If not, they might not know.
Also, do you notice the speakers have a more tinny, electronic sound? Especially the earpiece when on calls. Coming from an iphone 6s, peoples voices are Clearer.
that should be really dissappointing after paying 1250$ just for a phone to deal with such troubles.
I've given up my purchase.
the biggest issue is imo apple still does not identify the problem and leave users with a big question mark..
why???
What worked for me was this:
1. Make sure you phone is on loud.
2. Clear all apps.
3. Go to settings > Sounds & Haptics > keyboard clicks ON. (Go to messages or notes and start typing, you should hear the clicks from the top receiver/speaker where the front camera is located.
4. Go back to settings > General > Accessibility > scroll down to hearing then move the audio balance to the Left. THEN the Right. And then once again back to the middle. And leave it in the middle.
5. After, restart phone from settings.
This worked for me, but I don’t know if it will for you? It’s worth a shot! Good luck!!
All you have to do is restart your phone, the rest isn’t necessary. Thats besides the point, the fact that a $1250 phone has this issue is a disgrace. Just like how my Apple 4k tv freezes and disconnects from the network at least once everyday. Apple product quality is going down the drain
Hi Mr DJ_GMONEY
YOU didn’t post for a while ?! How is your last replacement going so far , I’ m On my third replacement and same thing still happening , I’m going to replace it for the 4th time , actually there is no point like u mentioned before of keeping replacing phone , but I will do it out of desperation, they extended the return period here in Australia till the 8th of January for the holidays , thats why im going for a full refubd this time and then buying a brand new one , maybe this will make a difference and make them acknowledge the issue, I doubt it will do anything but this whole situation is getting really frustrating
Plz let us know what going on with your last phone you got from them
Regards
My 3rd phone still works after a soft reset and update to the latest iOS. I don’t know if I got lucky. I made a couple YouTube videos and a lot of people are commenting that they are having the same issue. Even folks with the XR are complaining about this issue.
I have got my XS Max in Singapore after 3 weeks of operations top ear specker stop working and i can’t hear any one who called to me so no music and no any voice during phone conversation, I just use Speacker during conversation this is expensive sh....t.
I really hope that everything will start working again, fingers crossed, today I discovered that during the call from my daughter I heard very bad voice so sometimes earpiece working currently again no any voices.
Hope for huge update from .
Restarting the device worked for me.... seems to be an iOS issue to me.
Tasks I usually do.
Connect to Bluetooth headsets, receive call and hear it through Bluetooth or MacBook or sometimes switch to phone speaker.
May be while switching all this, the setting is getting disturbed.
Unless you drop your phone severely, it will be hard for hardware to internally damage.
This is serious matter. Apple should solve it sooner. No. 1 brand is going through such kind of problems, its doesn’t seems good. Restarting solves it for a while.. but why?? This is not a sloution. We’re not going to restart our phone 100 time a day. The customer who is paying $1100 product isn’t expecting these kind of problems.. this thing doensn’t make it worth. Please solve it ASAP.
I'm sure they're aware. But every person who has this issue needs to provide feedback to Apple via this link. The more who do, the more aware Apple will be: Feedback - iPhone - Apple
Just got a new iphone XS,. Same thing happened. A reboot fixes! But why should I have to keep doing this
Let apple know!!!
You guys gotta do this or it'll never get done: Feedback - iPhone - Apple
You have a very unique situation then, perhaps a hardware issue with your particular device.
I definitely have not seen the issue you report, and from a lack of reports here it's certainly not a common issue.
