Hello Mud08,

Thank you for using Apple Support Communities! I understand that you're encountering an error when syncing contacts in iTunes on your Windows PC to your iPhone X. You've come to the right place for help.

Let's start by resetting your iTunes sync history. You can do that by clicking on Edit in the menu bar at the top of the iTunes window, then click Preferences > Devices > Reset Sync History. After that, try to sync your contacts again. Here is more information about what resetting your iTunes sync history will do:

iTunes for Windows: Devices preferences in iTunes

Specifically, check out this section:

Reset Sync History

If you’re having trouble syncing your iPhone or iPod with iTunes, resetting your sync history might solve the problem. Selecting this option won’t delete any synced information, but the next time you sync, you may be asked to merge or replace information.

If you still encounter the error when syncing contacts, iTunes Diagnostics can help give us some insight as to possible causes. Try running the iPhone/iPod Touch sync test following the steps here:

Gather and use iTunes Diagnostics in iTunes for Windows - Apple Support

Keep us posted on the results.

Cheers!

I had the same issue and just got t to work. On your watch, turn off cell (if you have it) and turn off WiFi. This will leave the only data connection to the Iphone is bluetooth. My contacts started to immediately sync. I also went into the watch app on my phone and went to General->Reset->Reset Sync Data, just to make sure. Hope this helps

Thanks, sterling r.

Tried both suggestions and still have the same problem.
When I reset the sync history it didn't really appear to do anything.

When I ran the iTunes Diagnostics everything came back positive.
Tried syncing again and got the same error.

Not sure why this is happening. Any other thoughts please let me know.
Cheers!
