iPhone XS Max lightning port charging issue

So Just got my new iphone. and noticed this issue I've been having. I connect the lightning cable to my phone to charge and most of the time it’s automatically charges. However I’ve noticed several times plugging the phone in and no charge comes up. Tried unplugging and plugging back in, sometimes it’ll work. I started to test it out. And I noticed the times I plugged it in, and I get no charge, I‘d leave the phone alone for 10-15 seconds. I pick it up, the screen illuminarea and then the charging symbol pops up. ive Tested these only with apple cables. So I’m thinking it’s either a port issue or possibly software. Any ideas or recommendations ?

When I contacted Apple-support, they said it was not an iOS issue but a sw issue that occurred when I set up an iPhone from an existing iPhone or a backup. Therefore there is no need for a bug fix of the iOS. Also they said it was not isolated to the new iPhone XS Max phones. The charging issue should therefore be fixed when I did a factory reset.

I’m on iOS 12.1 beta. I have the issue. I updated the second I activated my iPhone XS Max on the 21st.

EXACTLY Cubus25! My issue is with my iPad Pro and it has been persistent since iOS 12 beta 1. Articles are being updated letting readers know this is NOT isolated to just the iPhone XS.

so i flipped the cable if this issue occur

Here in india apple support is not so good.

This is so weird, people are having this issue with the iPhone XS Max and i'm having this issue with the iPhone X after iOS 12, only charges with aftermarket cables. I hope it's a software issue.

You might have to turn off the timer for sleep so it doesn’t go to sleep

Then your device is broken and you should get it replaced if It will not charge in the sequence:

1) Unlock phone

2) Connect cable

Devices aren't perfect, and some are indeed defective.

Turn this on in Face ID and passcode settings. Fixes it

It’s in the developer notes on the update page in your settings, it Fixes the WiFi issue as well

I’ve noticed the SAME thing today! And the process can be reiterated by anyone with the iPhone XS Max so far..... I did the same

Process; which is leaving the device alone for 20 secs and then, without waking the screen, plugging it in ... and NOTHING hap!!! It won’t charge or make a sound ... even after you wake it ! You have to unplug it and re-plug it In with the screen awake for it to start charging . Very very bad bug. If I do this before bed and FORGET to check the phones charging status, I’ll be upset to wake up to a dead phone . This needs to be checkout out ASAP.

I contacted Apple support. They kept giving me the usual canned responses. A friend of mine in another state replicated the issue as well. Where can we report actual feedback on the device, aside from Beta feedback ?

As of right now. Nothing. I left a message on the feedback page. Hopefully everyone does the same. The more people complain the better. I’ve noticed wirelessly charging I haven’t encountered any issues.
