Damage core storage users

Hello, I am trying to install MacOS Mojave on my 2016 MacBook Pro No Touch Bar, but it is not allowing me to select a disk to install it on and it says I cannot install it as it has damaged Core Storage users. What does this mean and how can I fix it?

Thanks,

Vis

MacBook Pro, macOS High Sierra (10.13.6)

Don't even THINK about this unless you have a recent backup. You may hate it, and Restring from your backup is the only way to go back. There is no simple "Undo" command.

Your disk directory needs to be repaired. You can get one pass at doing that by booting into Safe Mode, which loads the Kernel, then does a five minute disk check, then proceeds.

A more thorough repair can be accomplished from Internet Recovery.

This solution solved a problem I've dealt with since I transferred all my files from an iMac to my Macbook. I didn't have the patience to pursue the solution. Previous to this simple fix, when I'd reboot I would get a test login icon ( I created when I moved all my files) that I would password into and then it switched me over to my login icon where I would log in again to my user profile. After changing the setting, I log in once to my user profile. Downloading Mojave is now allowed because the Mac HD icon appears where before the Mac Recovery Disc icon appeared too. Both of the icons were shaded, and I couldn't download Mojave to Mac HD. Now, I can. Thanks.
