Siri Shortcuts not working on Apple Watch

I created a shortcut in the Shortcuts app on my iPhone X, and recorded a phrase for it, “hello world”. I can then say “Hey Siri, hello world” to that iPhone and it runs the shortcut. I can also say “hello world” to my iPad and it automatically recognises the shortcut and runs it on there too.

But, on my new Apple Watch 4, when saying “hello world” to it (by raise to speak) it doesn’t work. It says “I do not recognise this command”.

According to the following Apple page, under “Run a shortcut with Siri”, it indicates that it should work on the Watch too.

This is supposed to work, isn’t it?

I figured it was something to do with that but I couldn’t figure out how to sign out of my Apple ID on the Watch. So I unpaired the Watch and re-paired it with my iPhone and now it seems to be working, albeit with a bit of delay.

Annoyingly, I’d been on chat with Apple support and they didn’t understand what I meant but when they figured it out they just said it didn’t work in this version 🙄
