We asked above.......What is the message that appears when you open AirPort Utility, click on the AirPort so that a smaller window appears.....and you look at the Status setting? It normally the last item that appears in the window.

What is the message that you see next to Status?

If you click on the small amber dot next to the Status message, more information about the issue will appear. Please post back with the exact information that you see.

The amber blinking light indicates that there is a setting that needs to be checked, or an update is available for the AirPort in question.

If you have not already done so, power off the AirPort with the blinking amber light, wait a few seconds, then power it up again to see if a green light will appear.

If not, and you are using a Mac, open AirPort Utility (Finder > Applications > Utilities > AirPort Utility)

Click on the picture of the AirPort that displays amber

A smaller window will appear

If you see an Update button, click on it to update the firmware on the AirPort

Otherside, look for the Status setting and report on the message that you see next to Status

If you are using an iPhone or iPad, and have installed AirPort Utility on the device.....

Go to the Home Screen

Tap On AirPort Utility

Tap on Status

Ok, I was finally able to change my password, with soft reset, did the update, unplugged and re plugged the airport in, airport is still blinking amber...This is so frustrating, but I certainly appreciate all your help. Just doesn’t seam like anything I do fixes this problem. Doing an additional update this morning...I’ll give it another 30-40 minutes to see if anything changes.

Thank you again

Hi Bob, I think it is fixed!!! After I did the last update this morning...it just kept showing that it was updating...after 45 min, I just closed everything out, did a restart on my computer unplugged the airport, and after the restart on my Macbook, I plugged the airport in and after a few Amber blinks it turned GREEN!!!!!

The only thing I did different was I moved it one room closer to the base...but I had moved it closer earlier this morning but it still blinked amber, until after the additional update, and restart.

Thank you for the help and expertise!

ps, there wasn’t any message...I just hit edit, and then hit update...
