how do I decrypt Macintosh hd in MacBook Air ?

I am not able to update macOS as I am getting a message that your Macintosh hd is encrypted.

MACBOOK AIR (13-INCH, 2017), iOS 11.3.1

The message you're receiving tells me you have encrypted your computer with FileVault. To decrypt your computer, just turn FileVault off.
