Battery Life of Shuffle?

I'm thinking about getting 1 for my 2 wks vacation. Not planning to bring laptop so I have question about recharging player. Do I need to connect to USB 2.0 PC w/ iTunes software installed? If not, do I need to download any software to PC to recharge it?

Is there a way to recharge player w/o connecting to a USB port?

The computer you are charging from does not have to have iTunes, it just needs a fully powered USB port. You can buy a wall charger from Apple or others and this is your best bet for charging while traveling.

I'm having battery problems with a shuffle I've used rather sparingly in the two months I've owned it. I charge fully to green, use for about an hour, hit "pause", then slide the power bar to "off". The next day - no charge. Do I have a bad battery already or am I doing something incorrectly when I power down after the first use?

That's abnormal performance, at least for a 2nd Gen shuffle... are you leaving the earphones connected when you "power off". if so disconnect. Best solution is to take it into an Apple Store...

I have had my original ipod shuffle for almost two years, and just recently the battery life dropped from several hours to only ten minutes. Is it normal for even an old battery to change that quickly? I was expecting a slow decline in battery life.

Did anyone help you slove your problem because I'm having the same issue?
