iPhone Xs Max poor cell phone reception fix?

Had my Xs Max for a few days now. Previous phone was a X that I had for a year. As soon as I switched to this phone, my 4 bars of cell service that I always had at home and work, went to 1 or maybe 2 bars in the same locations. Now I have trouble sending messages to android users through SMS because the signals so weak. Is there a fix for this? I don’t want to own a phone that I payed this much for, that gets this bad reception.

Great news. I returned my phone to Apple prior to 14 days and they replaced it with new one out of box, logs stated I had more than normal call dropouts. New phone is fine, previous handset must have had a hardware fault. Now that’s what I call premium support. 👍

Please somebody help I have the iPhone 10 since last November when it came out. I immediately started having very poor service so I returned the phone to Verizon got a whole new one after the test showed no issues with the phone. Now I’m ****** so come May 2018 I canceled with Verizon all together thinking they service was trash and Got and new account with AT&T white another brand new X and lord and behold no clear service phone never has nor the two bars I can’t send messages to android phones nobody never hear what I’m saying from the other end of the line. My family have 7 and 8 plus no issues at all. I don’t know what to do signing off frustrated and ready to throw this phone at a wall.

I'm still having problems a month later. I have noticed some places are better, but others are still borderline unusable.

I'm on the betas and stay up with that. Not sure if my progress is due to betas or Verizon updating the network.


My speeds at work are not passable.

My speeds at my girlfriend's house are still unusable. Speed test won't even complete because it can't find connection. Meanwhile her Xs (also on Verizon) is getting faster download speed than her Xfinity is providing.


Guess I need to get it to the Apple store, but when I stopped by and mentioned it one day, they acted like they had no idea and that it would be Verizon's problem and that they wouldn't be able to do anything. So I never set up the appointment.

I am having the same issues with my XS Max. Cell reception and WiFi reception are terrible. I set up my phone as new when I got it so i know it isn’t a software issue. It loses connectivity in the middle of browsing, or won’t load anything at all. I am always 2-3 bars below other iPhones on cellular. This really upsets me since it is a $1300 phone. I wish Apple would communicate better on these issues. I have seen where they contact some customers to have them download something to monitor this issue, but that is it.
