iMac 2011 for Mojave Upgrade

I have an iMac 27" mid 2011 with below specs.

Processor: 3.4 Ghz i7

Memory: 12Gb

Graphics: AMD Radeon HD 6970 1024Mb

Storage Free: 350Gb

What is the reason why I can't upgrade to Mojave? Because this Mac is 2011?

Hoping to get a reasonable response on this matter. THanks

iMac, OS X Yosemite (10.10.5), graphics card

problem is the AMD Radeon HD 5xxx/6xxx series GPU acceleration. Currently, it is not possible to get full graphics acceleration when running Mojave on a system with a Radeon HD 5xxx or 6xxx series GPU. Mojave will be almost UNUSABLE without graphics acceleration. This includes the 15" and 17" MacBook Pro systems (MacBookPro8,2 and 8,3). If you want to enable GPU acceleration on these machines, you'll need to disable the AMD GPU (This will work on MacBook Pro 8,2 and 8,3 systems ONLY. You CANNOT disable the AMD GPU in an iMac.)

And let us not forget these cards are going for a hundred bucks and it is a pain according to I fix it to get it put in you can try it at your own expense and risk I would have loved to see apple have a GPU upgrade program for these considering how much they could have charged and the fact that people would have definitely bought the cards and it's not even that expensive. I'm looking at getting this iMac for like 75 to a hundred bucks and I'm still on the fence please if you invested really any money at all into it and you've got no spare do not do it it is not worth it.
