macOS Mojave Install Fail

After downloading and trying to install Mojave from the Mac App Store, I was greeted with, "An Error occurred while preparing the installation. Try running this application again". Of course, same result from trying to run that application again - let's see what the google has to say about it. The first hit was reinstalling from recovery mode. Same issue. Then I was told to update my system time using the terminal. My system time was spot on, so updating it made no sense. Then I was told to redownload through the App Store. Well, when you go to the Mojave page, it says "Open" where it would ordinarily say "Download". So then I tried the "Purchased" tab. Mojave was not listed there. I found out from a MacRumors article that since Sierra, Apple has decided not to list os downloads here. So then I went to downloads to see if I could delete the old Mojave download file. It was not there. Finally - I found the download file in the applications folder. I have deleted it and sure enough, the "download" button in the App Store reappeared. I am now downloading a fresh copy of the Mojave install file. Hopefully this will resolve the issue, and will report back with results.
