macOS Mojave battery drain

Just updated my OS to Mojave this morning and brought my laptop to work. It was on full charge when I left home. 2hrs after using it, the battery percentage was down to 40% which never happened before during any of my regular use. Also, the texts on the screen are blurry.

My 2015 mac was *perfectly* fine before this update. Now, I can't use my computer for more than 45 minutes-1 hour without worrying about battery life. Lagging is insane, battery life is almost non-existent, and there is very loud computer fan noise all the time now. Just typing this message in 2-3 minutes my battery life has drained from 10%-7%! I want this fixed promptly. I can not get through a school year with these persistent issues.

I previously tried the tcpkeepalive 0 setting - seemed to be working at first but still lost 30% overnight. Hoping 14.1 will fix...

But, just updated my MBP to Mojave 14.1 (in the hope that it will fix the battery drain issue) and noticed that "About This Mac" no longer shows the version or Serial Number. I can get the S/N off the original invoice (luckily, I keep emailed invoices from 2014) or my iPhone - but it suggests something amiss.

I don't know if the loss followed the original update or just the latest. Anyone else notice this?

It really seems fixed for me now.
