Just updated my OS to Mojave this morning and brought my laptop to work. It was on full charge when I left home. 2hrs after using it, the battery percentage was down to 40% which never happened before during any of my regular use. Also, the texts on the screen are blurry.

Nope, this is happening with brand new Macbooks (I've tried FOUR in a row) and I am not overcharging anything. It's something wrong with the products or with Mojave as everyone has been saying...
Are you using the same charger? It could be a maintenance stuff up in the making or you have downloaded apps with viruses (virus's can cause battery drainage)
Yeah but systems don't always work out there's alway bugs and mistakes, mechanical devices aren't perfect.

Same! I just bought a new macbook pro 2019! And it drains battery crazy fast and it heats up with just browsing / youtube. as I'm typing now, i'm feeling how warm my laptop is!
I'm convinced it's a Mojave issue, and they won't let us downgrade to Sierra on a new product. So senseless and wrong.
can't you create a bootable USB with "install macOS High Sierra" file, boot from the flash drive and install HS? Don't tell me they don't permit HS installation on the latest macs???!!
